Hubby and I, we visited the Sunday flea market at Schwechat. One of the biggest flea market outside Vienna which we love to visit during Sundays on summertime. That have lots of private sellers from families emptying their basements or attics! Easy to reach, if you will go with car relatively easy parking and mostly something for everyone. Here is their facebook page for more INFO check it out: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Flohmarkt-Schwechat/142115002525453
Got up around 6 in the morning we walked from home at 5th District of Vienna to Schwechat took us 2 hours and 19 minutes it was 11,1 km. Good job for me to fight diabetes. Looking forward to do something like this as often as I can, it was fun and a very healthy idea to boost my eagerness to maintain my sugar level into healthy side.
And we end up to brunching at this corner in Brauhaus Schwechat. Grilled haft chicken landed on the table which is usually served with potatoe or cabbage salad with semmel, an austrian roll. Not in picture and video. Happy Sunday everyone!
Dorado or Sea Bream, icooked with tomatoes, onion and tumeric a kind of with soup but it turned out good for hubby’s taste. Ate with my brown rice. Cooked without oil just the natural fat from the fish.
TUMERIC- comes from ginger root, this spice could help treat diabetes, stabilize blood sugar levels according to research.
Sea bream belongs to white fish, which is a good source of iron and calcium and has a higher fat content as you could sea in soup, considered a valuable source of omega 3 fat. Can help to lower blood pressure, again for hypertension.
A soup made of Polenta, Pechay and Turkey breast seasoned with broth powder, salt and pepper. Polenta made from maize flour or corn flour, use in Italian cooking. That was dinner last night and granary roll. Granary roll or in german Grahamweckerl is lower on the glycemic index than white and wholemeal bread. So it is suitable for people who are suffering from type2 diabetes.
A lightly lunch for me as I go on watching my cholesterol, diabetes, and hypertension. Yes you read it right. Here above juicy turkey breast meat and salad without rice. Home cooked in a frying pan and salad dressing is just a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. For all we know that turkey meat is an excellent choice for health.
Here veggies- my linner- sauteed green bell pepper, mushrooms, pechay and sesame seed oil. Eating low -carb vegetables is a smart way to fill up when you have type 2 diabetes. This is delicious and healthy too aside from meatless. Take it away from me Folks. Guten appetit!
Hello everyone, today’s lunch at home Pechay with shrimps with lots of crushed garlic. Why lots of crushed garlic? Because if you are watching your health particularly diabetes and hypertonie, like blood pressure can be at least alleviated by the frequent consumption of garlic over a long period of time. So here I used a whole cloves of crushed garlic-I Love it!
Pechay, Bok Choy or Chinese Cabbage whatever you want to call it. There are a lot of health benefits that can found in this crunchy, green leafy vegetable. It is now my habit to include it in my weekly menu plan for at least twice a week. Knowing that pechay contains law calories and carbohydrates. In additional it has potassium, a mineral which is responsible for prevention of hypertonie and the regulation of blood pressure. Sounds good ha! So take it away from me Folks specially for those who are suffering from diabetes and hypertonie with matching high cholesterol. Jesus Christ!
Starting today I’m using Sesame Seeds Oil. Giving a try of what I read from a magazine last week. Hoping that it will help me also. I will keep you inform about this in the long run… Served with Brown Rice and a glass of Lemon juice as you could see on the Video. Happy Cooking and GUTEN APPETIT!
Note: This Recipe yields 4 Persons, so if you are alone or two you can reduce the whole Ingredienst according to your preferences just like garlic maybe it is too much for you.

,Sunday Father’s Day viand for hubby, one of his fave; lentils with smoked pork meat and zucchini. Plus water melon afterward. Again, smoked pork meat was given to me by a colleague from Bosnia, this is the last part of it which I freezed before.
500g Lentils, boiled
250g smoked pork meat
3 pcs. small-sized Zucchini
1 Tomatoe, sliced thinly
1 Onion, peeled and sliced thinly
some water for boiling the meat
I just boiled it until the meat is tender. Then cut into cubes, added tomatoe, zucchini, lentils ( you can use the one from can or fresh one) and onion then let it boil until done. I did not adjust any seasoning because the smoked meat is salty, was just enough to taste. It turn out good for hubby preferences. Afterward we had water melon. Guten appetit! Happy Father’s Day to all Fathers way out there.
Saturday sweet, cherry-peach cake from my kitchen. I got a bunch of puff pastry from Serbia, a colleague brought it for me. And this recipe is also from her. I tried it for so many times, by this time I will bake it with cherry and peach. Which is divided into two mixture. You can try it also with banana or any fruit according to your preferences.
1 Pack Puff Pastry
For the First Mixture
1 Pack Baking Powder
1 Pack Vanilla Sugar
400g Yoghurt (3 Cups)
1 dcl. Oil
For Second Mixture
* 500g Cherry (no seed, in Glass or Can)
* 500g Peach (fron Can, sliced)
3 tbsp. Biscuit (any Biscuit, ground)
1 Pack Vanilla Sugar
In a bowl, add the first mixture all together and in another bowl the second mixture.
Cut Puff pastry lengthwise about half an inch and put it apart. Wet with the half of the first mixture and place in baking pan. Add the second mixture of fruits without liquid.
Then the other half mixture of liquid (First mixture).
Bake it for about half an hour 180° Guten Appetit!
